Monday 24 December
Christmas Eve....my daughter and her partner are here, they have slept well in the revamped loft bedroom, used the new shower and tell me it's all working well, which is good news.
We had finished dressing the trees and were just putting presents under the it when the doorbell rang. It was a man come to remove the skip wondering whether I knew who owns the cars parked next to the skip (I don't - it's Christmas and there are lots of visitors in the street).
I had no idea the skip was being removed today. You would have thought someone might have mentioned it! Ah well, at least hat's a bit more space on the street for residents and visitors to park, even though there are still building materials piled up next to where the skip had been along with overflow rubbish from the skip itself. The builders will have to sort that out after Christmas, along with the long list of other outstanding jobs.
I had hoped to be able to forget about the house project now, but as well as the skip man's unexpected arrival there's an email from the kitchen designer with tentative dates to finish the kitchen installation (bar the backslashes) - either 31 December or 7 January. I have other plans for New Year Eve, so 7 January it is...I hope.
My son is due to arrive tonight so I really hope that's it on the house project for now. I need a break and want to enjoy the festivities with family and friends!
The rest of Christmas week
Bliss.
Pure bliss.
No builders.
Just having a lovely time.
Happy Christmas everyone :)
