Tuesday 4 June
After a meeting with the man in charge on 23 May about money matters, we left it that he would review various costs/deductions to see whether we could get closer to an agreed bottom line on the outstanding project costs, taking into account various deductions and extras owed to date.
As it was Spring Bank Holiday and schools half term last week, I wasn't expecting to hear from the man in charge until this week. However, today is the first anniversary of the start of the contract on site in 2018, and I was hoping that it would all be done and dusted by now....bearing in mind that it was supposed to be a 10 week build!
I have sent the man in charge a gentle reminder that he needs to come back to me having reviewed costs to see if we are any closer to agreeing the amount outstanding and to sort out a programme to finish the last couple of items on the jobs list, snagging and certification.
For the record, I have taken a few picture of the new kitchen diner downstairs (warts and all - not tidied up!) to show that even though its not quite finished, its all very liveable in...and has been enjoyed by family and friends in recent times. Just wish it was completely finished, so that I can compete the decoration, sort out permanent storage, empty the last boxes emptied and put everything away.
